In the heart of Spoleto, in one of its most illustrious palaces, we are delighted to present one of the city's four evocative altanas.
Palazzo Tordelli, built at the end of the 19th century, is an architectural work of art that once housed a luxury hotel, famous for its underfloor heating, a heritage of the remains of the ancient Roman thermae on which it stands. This historic building was for many years a great landmark for Spoleto residents and tourists with its cafeteria, restaurant and hotel. The hotel closed in 1954 and the palace was renamed Palazzo Due Mondi, as it was the venue for a wide range of events during the Festival dei Due Mondi, a highlight for the city of Spoleto. Today, this charming palazzo houses luxury dwellings. The property we offer for sale is located on the fourth floor and is accessible by lift, a one-room apartment that combines charm and comfort. The living room is the heart of the property, with a breathtaking view of the Rocca Albornoziana, one of the city's most spectacular panoramas, combined with a functional kitchen and an elegant bathroom. Finely renovated in 2018, the property welcomes us with a warm and authentic atmosphere that respects the originality of the materials, from the parquet floor to the wooden beams and terracotta tiles, as tradition requires. A perfect property for those seeking an exclusive retreat without giving up a contemporary lifestyle, a rarity that embodies the charm and elegance of the city.
Spoleto, a ducal jewel, is famous for its combination of history, art and nature. Walking through its historic centre, one is enchanted by iconic sites such as Piazza del Duomo and the Ponte delle Torri. The city enjoys a strategic location with Umbria International Airport only 30 minutes‘ drive away, Perugia reachable in 45 minutes and Rome 2 hours’ drive away; Florence and southern Tuscany can be reached in about 2 hours and half.
