PANICALE is a charming historic town in the province of Perugia, located on top of a hill at about 400 meters above sea level. It has been recognized as one of the most beautiful villages in Italy and has also received the "Orange Flag" award for its commitment to the conservation of the historic landscape. Its appearance reflects its medieval roots and despite the passing of the years it maintains all the structural and architectural characteristics of that period. The town has a plan with concentric circles, representing one of the most advanced military defense systems of the medieval era. Inside the Church of San Sebastiano there is the beautiful fresco by Perugino "The Martyrdom of St. Sebastian" (1505).
