This small lake shaped like a horseshoe, it has crystal clear waters and a depth of about thirty-seven metres, there are springs that flow from the ground and provide clear water. This small body of water feeds the Bruna river which flows into the Tyrrhenian Sea near the village of Castiglione della Pescaia. For some time it has been recognized as the "Archeological Park of Lake Accesa" for an ancient Etruscan settlement, originating from the 7th - 6th century BC. C.
